Overcome The Giant

We all have giants that we face. For some of us, that may be a mental issue that we face, anxiety, addiction, depression, etc. For others, that could be a physical issue such as, cancer, eating disorders, heart problems, etc. It could even be situations that have hurt us, a hard break up, the death of a love one, a friend who betrayed us, or rejection from others.

No matter what it may be, some of us have something that makes life a little harder than it should be. Something that keeps us up at night. Something that is hard to overcome, and sometimes, we wonder “Maybe we should just give up”.

Well today, I want you to find that giant, whatever it may be. Find it inside of you.

Do you have it?

Now, be thinking about it while you read this next part.

Jesus has won the victory. He has defeated your giant when he died on the cross.

“God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient. And you will joyfully give thanks to the Father who has made you able to have a share in all that he has prepared for his people in the kingdom of light. God has freed us from the power of darkness, and he brought us into the kingdom of his dear Son. The Son paid for our sins, and in him we have forgiveness. No one can see God, but Jesus Christ is exactly like him. He ranks higher than everything that has been made. Through his power all things were made — things in heaven and on earth, things seen and unseen, all powers, authorities, lords, and rulers. All things were made through Christ and for Christ. He was there before anything was made, and all things continue because of him. He is the head of the body, which is the church. Everything comes from him. He is the first one who was raised from the dead. So in all things Jesus has first place. God was pleased for all of himself to live in Christ. And through Christ, God has brought all things back to himself again — things on earth and things in heaven. God made peace through the blood of Christ’s death on the cross.” -Colossians 1:11-20

It says it all right there. He has won the victory FOR YOU. He has defeated sin FOR YOU. He has given YOU a new life in Him. ISN’T THAT AMAZING??

However, even through the death of Jesus Christ, that does not mean we will not face trials. You giant can still hurt you. It can haunt you, hurt you, whisper lies to you, and even more. BUT Jesus has won the victory for you, so that you can have life with Him and overcome your giant.

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. – Philippians 4:13

Believe that verse and hold on to it. You cannot conquer your giant alone, but with God, anything is possible. He will strengthen you and help you. It may be difficult. It may take a lot of strength in you, and it also may take time. BUT it’s not impossible. Remember that.

Love always,

Claire

Filth Is Overwhelming Me

Filth. Have you ever woke up and just felt like you were covered in filth? You just feel gross and like you’re going to be sick? I always hated the word filth because it was always just a gross word. But it feels even worse living in it. Filth has been overwhelming me lately. It’s all over the place. All the gross earthly things are racing around me and infecting me. It sounds gross, and it honestly is.

The enemy makes us worry and scared about almost anything it seems. He likes to throw us curve balls a lot of the time to throw us off. It could be something as simple as a sarcastic comment that just makes us lose it. Sometimes, we get so caught up in what is going on in this world, and we forget to find the light.

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. – Psalm 119:105

The darkness seems so wrapped around us, but we still have to find Jesus in all of the hot messes. Life is full of hot messes, but hot messes are there to help us remember that even through the rough times, Jesus can always been found. He is waiting for us to look towards Him because He is going to give us everything we need to get through it. He provides for us.

We need to step out of OUR world and dive into the Word of God.

Just remember that even when you feel unworthy, overwhelmed, or useless, remember that you are a child of God. You are so important to Him. Sometimes, you just have to take a step back from the school work, the latest trends, the popularity, and all the earthly possessions that we get so caught up in and look towards Jesus. He is what we find our identity in. He is what we need to strive for. He is enough for us.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him. He came to which was His own, but His own did not receive Him. Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. – John 1:10-12

God wants us to get rid of all of our moral filth. He wants us to choose freedom instead, the freedom that He gives us. When our faith is tested, perseverance is being produced. He wants us to believe and have faith in Him, not doubt. He doesn’t want us to worry or be afraid because He is in control of everything.

“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” – James 1: 4-6

Clear your mind. Take a step back and look at all the beautiful things that are filled with the joy of the Lord. Find Jesus in the good and the bad. He loves you and He will give you hope and guidance. Remember that you are so loved and He is always with you.

Love always,

Claire
