Fresh Wind

I’ve been slowing down a bit over the past few weeks to intentionally reflect over the past year. A year that has been full of changes. Changes in routines, expectations, and finding rhythm each month it seems.

Within changes, there can be times of great joy and excitement, while also times of disappointment. Our expectations can seem unmet, which may have us stuck in thoughts of discontentment.

Recently, the Lord has reminded me the gift of thankfulness. How thankfulness can reshape our thoughts to direct on the faithfulness, provision, and pursuit of God in our lives, instead of the areas we lack in. The Lord convicted me of this area in my heart of going through the motions of gratitude, without the heart posture of noticing His blessings in my life. How He truly has provided and gone before me in the blessings and provisions I have.

I’ve found Psalm 51:10-12 to be an encouragement over myself, for God to give me a renewed and willing spirit in drawing nearer to noticing His presence in my life.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” – Psalm 51:10-12

I believe the Lord can always start anew with us. We are a new creation in Christ and we are being renewed day by day. Thankful for the grace of God that continues to pursue my sinful nature. His grace and mercies are new to us each day.

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”Isaiah 43:19

With love,

Claire
