Beauty in Resilience

I got to complete my first 10k with a friend this weekend!

I would love to say that I trained SO well for this race, but leading up to the race throughout most of October, I was a bit under the weather. I had more goals to train for the race, but I was having a lot of sinus issues and colds. I’ve still been recovering from my TMJ surgery in August, which thankfully is getting better – but so interesting to see how something small can affect me physically and mentally on the daily.

Even though my expectations with my training in October were fulfilled differently than how I thought they would be, the race was so sweet! I loved the ability to show up and finish it. I was reminded of the gratitude found within how my body is created, to endure and to be strengthened over time, as well as having the ability to run. The Lord provided great weather and beautiful scenery around us.

During this season with recovering from some health issues, I’m definitely learning that our bodies as humans are not perfect and never will be. Because we live in a broken world, our bodies will also face brokenness. However, there is so much beauty in the resilience found within our bodies and what the Lord can show us with our eyes and our hearts.

As seasons change as well, we will also change, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I’m reminded of Ecclesiastes 3:1, for everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.

Sometimes, we don’t have the understanding of what this season may be for or what it could be preparing us for, but we have to remain and trust in the Lord. How are you trusting in the Lord today?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understand. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6

With love,

Claire
