Trust. There are a lot of things that come to mind whenever that word comes up. I think about how in relationships, trust is one of the most important characteristics. I think about how trust can be hard to give to others. Trust is also a lot of the times broken between others. Friends can betray each other; the guy can cheat on the girl or vise versa; a parent can lie to their kid, etc. A lot of situations can lead to breaking someone’s trust, but we don’t have to worry when it comes to trusting God.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3: 5-6
When you think about relationships, trust is usually one of the major things that holds that relationship together. Without trust, you don’t really have that much there. But it doesn’t just come the second you meet that person. It takes a while to get use to him/her and that trust has to build. Well, in your relationship with God, trust still plays a major role. It has to build as the relationship builds. However, in some situations, trusting God is not the easiest thing to do.
Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always. – 1 Chronicles 16: 11
Now some of you might be thinking, “Why do I really need to trust God?” Well, first of all, He is in control of your life, not you. Yes, you are living your life, but He has placed all the things in your life for a reason, to guide you. He gave you your job, your house, your family, your friends, and everything else. The life you are living is the life that God is wanting you to pursue. Second of all, it’s better when you trust God. When you trust Him, you aren’t as worried or anxious about things as you normally would be. Trusting God means that you are following Him while He is leading you through the journey. Your life has complete control with Him.
Having trust in God means that You are following Him, and He is leading You through it all.
When it comes to trust, we have to learn to trust God in every situation in our life. Trusting in Him helps your relationship with God grow, and it helps you have a better sense of freedom. You don’t have to worry about all the other tiny things in the world because with God, He is going to give you exactly what you need.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. – Hebrews 11: 1
