I’ve had a love for fitness over the past few years & began teaching as a yoga instructor in 2023. After training to become an instructor & several classes of teaching, I wanted to share some thoughts that the Lord has taught me over this time:
First, God is purposeful, intentional, & meaningful with the creation of our bodies. Through teaching & learning yoga poses, I have noticed how God designed our bodies with strength & resiliency.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. – Isaiah 41:10
Everyone is unique, through personality, character, & appearance, yet we are all equally loved by the same Creator. Our inward & outward characteristics shape us as who we are & as how God created us to be – in His image.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. – Genesis 1:27
Stillness creates space for His presence. God always has an invitation for us to draw near to Him. The Lord invites us into times of rest without distractions so we can be restored, refreshed, & renewed by His peace & presence.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28
We take thousands of breaths per day, & even as they may seem small, short, or shallow at times, the air in our lungs purposefully equips us for each day. As a follower of Christ, each day, you are directed by the Holy Spirit living in you to take steps in pursuit of Christ & His people.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Praying that the Lord invites you into a time with Him, through movement or stillness with Him.
