Woven Through

The beginning of January 2024, I started reading a chronological study of the Bible. It has been a goal of mine for several years to read the Bible as a whole.

I began in Genesis, made my way through learning about the law, the mistakes that kings, rulers, men, and women made. Charted my way through the stories of the faithful, Noah, Moses, Joseph, Ruth, and Esther. Imagined myself through the lens of wandering the wilderness like the Israelites. I was left in awe of David’s words through the psalms, as well as his heart and soul fixed on the Lord through the darkest of times.

I was deeply reminded about the weight of my sin through the Bible. The price to be paid for our sins through the blood of animals in the Old Testament – and how Jesus became the final and fulfilling sacrifice for us in the New Testament.

I witnessed how the early church suffered persecution, trials, hardships, but so many followers of Christ continued on in the good work – Peter, John, Barnabas, Timothy. Inspired by the faith of those, like Stephen, who stood trial and suffering for the sake of the gospel.

Transformation came through the pages of the life of Saul/Paul and through his words written in several books – gaining wisdom from him through his trials and isolation in prison.

Some many themes are woven through the Bible – redemption, hope, faith, love, forgiveness, and grace. The Lord meets us right where we are when we pick up His Word. We can learn from the ones that have gone before us and learn from The One who fully desires us to know Him because of His great love for us.

I hope wherever you find yourself today, you spend time to soak in the truth of Scripture through the pages of your Bible.

With love,

Claire
