Filth Is Overwhelming Me

Filth. Have you ever woke up and just felt like you were covered in filth? You just feel gross and like you’re going to be sick? I always hated the word filth because it was always just a gross word. But it feels even worse living in it. Filth has been overwhelming me lately. It’s all over the place. All the gross earthly things are racing around me and infecting me. It sounds gross, and it honestly is.

The enemy makes us worry and scared about almost anything it seems. He likes to throw us curve balls a lot of the time to throw us off. It could be something as simple as a sarcastic comment that just makes us lose it. Sometimes, we get so caught up in what is going on in this world, and we forget to find the light.

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. – Psalm 119:105

The darkness seems so wrapped around us, but we still have to find Jesus in all of the hot messes. Life is full of hot messes, but hot messes are there to help us remember that even through the rough times, Jesus can always been found. He is waiting for us to look towards Him because He is going to give us everything we need to get through it. He provides for us.

We need to step out of OUR world and dive into the Word of God.

Just remember that even when you feel unworthy, overwhelmed, or useless, remember that you are a child of God. You are so important to Him. Sometimes, you just have to take a step back from the school work, the latest trends, the popularity, and all the earthly possessions that we get so caught up in and look towards Jesus. He is what we find our identity in. He is what we need to strive for. He is enough for us.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him. He came to which was His own, but His own did not receive Him. Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. – John 1:10-12

God wants us to get rid of all of our moral filth. He wants us to choose freedom instead, the freedom that He gives us. When our faith is tested, perseverance is being produced. He wants us to believe and have faith in Him, not doubt. He doesn’t want us to worry or be afraid because He is in control of everything.

“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” – James 1: 4-6

Clear your mind. Take a step back and look at all the beautiful things that are filled with the joy of the Lord. Find Jesus in the good and the bad. He loves you and He will give you hope and guidance. Remember that you are so loved and He is always with you.

Love always,

Claire
